Karl has experience and qualifications as a Chartered Engineer, Private certifier, Building Inspector and Property Developer. This unique mix of expertise places Karl in an ideal position to provide invaluable advice on identifying, controlling and managing real estate investment projects and adding substantial value throughout development life cycle from discovery right through to successful completion.   

Karl has gained broad experience in the property and development industry, including working in senior management positions with private and government entities both in Australia and Internationally, providing advice and managing projects for a diverse range of property owners, global alternative investment management firms, local councils, state governments and various property development entities.

After 35 combined years of employment with leading property development firms including Lend Lease in Australia and Majid Al-Futaim across the UAE and MENA region, Karl founded Theotes in 2013, driven by the desire to share his wealth of knowledge and experience in a property portfolio management and advisory capacity. Karl has provided advisory and development management services to many clients, as well as successfully delivering his own commercial and residential development projects.

Past projects have been diverse and have delivered fruitful outcomes both as an advisor and as an owner/developer. Some of the projects include several child care centres, franchise developments including Hungry Jacks and Burger King, luxury waterfront residential penthouses in Sydney and various other development projects.   

Qualifications and Experience

Karl is a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer on the National Engineers Register, a member of Engineers Australia and Accredited as an A1 Private Certifier with the Building Professionals Board, Karl is a dynamic leader and strategic thinker with commercial vision and strong project and development management skills, as well as exceptional communication with high levels of energy and drive.

Past experience includes working relationships with Lend Lease, the Department of Housing NSW, Sydney Water, Landcom, The Uniting Church Aged Care, The Coptic Orthodox Church, Sydney Water, Hungry Jacks, and a number of successful high-worth individuals and private investment trusts.

Throughout his professional career, Karl has forged strong professional relationships with colleagues, financiers, and government authorities. He has demonstrated experience in commercial, residential and mixed use real estate development and investment, thorough knowledge of the real estate development process including due diligence market research, feasibility studies, authority approvals, project risk identification & mitigation strategies, legal procedures, and government regulations.
